Admissions Arrangements for Primary & Secondary Schools and
In-Year Transfers

Primary Admissions
Parents whose children are due to start primary school the following September will receive notification from Plymouth City Council of the timings of admission. They are usually:-
- Applications can be made between end of October - Mid January
- Allocation Notifications are sent to parents - Mid April
- Parents to respond to allocation notification - by beginning of May
- Late applications and 2nd round of allocations sent out - end of May
- Parents to respond to 2nd allocation notifications - mid June
Secondary Admissions
Parents whose children are due to start secondary school the following September will receive a "Next Steps Booklet" whilst their child is in Year 5. The timings of admissions are usually:-
- 11 plus results issued in mid-October.
- Applications can be made between beginning of Sep - End of October.
- Allocation notifications are sent to parents - beginning of March
- Parents to respond to allocation notification - by mid March
- Late applications and 2nd round of allocations sent out - beginning of April
- Parents to respond to allocation notification - by mid April
In-Year Transfers
Parents who wish to move their child to another school during the school term due to moving from the area or personal preference will need to contact the In-Year Admissions team. If you are staying in Plymouth they are part of Plymouth City Council, if moving outside of the area, you will need to contact the Council in the area you are moving to.
